[[ThomasCraighead1839][Thomas Craighead]]; b. 26 Jul 1839, d. 24 Feb 1920 ---+++_John’s Life_ It is believed that John Craighead emigrated from Scotland to Ontario around 1841 with his brother George. His name first appears in an assignment dated 4 Jan 1845 for the purchase by his father of Lot 22 south half, Concession 6 in the Township of Seymour, County of Northumberland, as having accepted the document on behalf of his father. However, his name doesn't appear on the 1851 and 1861 census records for Seymour Township but does appear on the 1871 census records for South Simcoe County as a lumberman at Lefroy on Lake Simcoe. Later he is shown as a free holder of parts of Lots 22 & 23, Concession 3 of Innisfil Township. There is no record that he ever married and his death remains unknown. ---+++_References_ Ref.1 - Old Parochial Registers for the Parishes of Cruden and Old Deer in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. These were reviewed on microfilm through the Family History Centre of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. Ref.2 - Burnbrae Presbyterian Church registers for births, marriages and deaths.
