---+++_Life of Fannie Buckingham Benedict_

Fannie Buckingham Benedict was born January 14, 1863 in Norwalk, Ohio the fourth daughter of David and Harriott Benedict. She was educated in the Norwalk Public Schools. [1]

In the late 1890s, she went to Colorado to visit her sister, Hattie, who had moved west with her husband due to his tuberculosis. While there, she met Andrew J. Hottel and they became engaged. She and Andrew married on Monday, October 14, 1889 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Norwalk, Ohio. [2]

They returned to Colorado and established a home in Fort Collins Colorado. Later they moved to Lamar, Colorado, where Andrew was manager of a large mill, and lived there until his death in 1899. [3] At that time, Fanny moved back to Ohio with her three children, Benedict, Mary, and Aggie. After they had grown, she went to live with her sisters in her parents' home on Seminary Street in Norwalk. Fannie died in Norwalk on October 4, 1940. [4]
