Jack’s Early Years

Uncle Jack got in on the ground floor with IBM back in 1939, married Marion and moved to Vancouver. They had one daughter and one adopted son who later became an animator for Walt Disney.

BENEDICT, JACK A.: September 2nd, 1974 (Vancouver). Mr. Benedict was born in Calgary 68 years ago. He worked for Burns & Company until 1936, at which time he left for Vancouver, and was employed by I.B.M. until retirement. He is survived by his wife Marion, daughter Marlene, grand-daughter Sharon, and son Alan. Also, two sisters: Dorothy Lamont-Calgary, Agnes Scott-Edmonton, four brothers: William, Albert & George of Calgary, and Norman (Vancouver) and an aunt A. McPhail (Calgary). Services were held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, Vancouver, B.C.

Burial

Jack Benedict is buried in Union Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta, beside his mother.
