Harriet’s Early Years

Harriet appears with her parents and siblings on the 1851 Census in Thurlow Township, Hastings County, she is two years old.

After Harriet's mother's death in 1857, it is apparent that a young Harriet, along with her siblings, went to live with various families in the community.

Harriet Benedict can be found on the 1861 Census in Sidney Township, Hastings County, she was 11 and living with Levi & Catherine Parry. The Parry Family lived very close to two Bush families, these being brothers of Harriet's mother, Rachel Bush.

Harriet and William

Harriet went on to marrying William Parry, Levi & Catherine's son, this was confirmed from the Birth Registrations of three of their children, taken from the Ontario Birth Registration records. Further the family appears on the 1881 Census in Sidney Township with William's mother Catherine Parry in the household.

So far nothing more can be found on Harriet Benedict.
