notes

  • The part between "<!--" and "---+Enter Person's .." is purely optional and can be removed. If you do remove it, then also remember to remove the "</pre> -->" at the end, or it will show up in your text.
  • Replace "Enter Person's Name Here" with the name you are working on, e.g. Joshua Benedict. This becomes the top of your page.
  • The "|" symbols in the next section will create the fancy tables for our born, died and married information. The ":born:" items will cause the neat graphics to appear on the screen; they are optional for you to use or not, but I am.
  • The "Date at Location" implies, "24 Feb 1888 at Kickapoo, Joy Co., Michigan" or whatever.
  • For the spouse, use the date, "to", his/her maiden name, "at" the town of marriage. You can add her stats in lower down, such as birth, death dates, parents, whatever.
  • The "Parents" section will be hyperlinks if available to the parent(s).
  • For the children, if you believe you will be setting up the children shortly, then do the hyperlink thing. That is; [[JOhnDoe1888][John Doe]]; b. 1888; d. 1999. If you don't have the info, or won't be working on it soon, just put in John Doe for now. We can always go back to it.
  • The Parents of. This was put in in case you wanted to print off a biography of this ancestor on one page. Optionally you could also go to that ancestor and print off the full biography. This section is optional.
  • Just put the person's name in this line so it shows up correctly, eg. ---+++_The Parents of John_ The two underscores are required to make the section titles in italic print.
